Leavenworth Oktoberfest photography

Spent a full, off-and-on rainy, day in Leavenworth capturing Oktoberfest. The moisture did very little to dampen the spirits though! There were German and Bavarian lasses in all their St. Pauli girl glamour, giant steins of liquid gold and brown elixir, polka music done with the enthusiasm of any rock concert, a playground area for the kids, craft vendors, authentic food and drink, keg tapping, dancing, people watching and a parade to kick it all off. It runs both Friday and Saturday on the first three weekends in October so you have plenty of options for finding time to visit (and even still time left for this year!) I captured the event with Stephanie Fry Photography for ADG Media's LeavenworthOktoberfest.com, but next year, I may just have to find some time to visit as a reveler.

Holiday cards [Wenatchee photography + design]

The professional lab I use for processing has a fantastic new line of die-cut cards that would be wonderful for holiday cards, senior graduation invites or birth announcements. The look would be a custom design by me, I create each look just for you and don't re-use them between clients. The sample below shows the shapes and sizes available (using their purchased designs.) There is a minimum order of 25 (all the same style). Pricing for 25, which includes the custom design, cards, envelopes and shipping, is $45. Fifty cards is $80 and 100 cards is $140. If you're interested, the deadline for ordering is December 10.

Wenatchee High School Homecoming portraits

We met him at Penney's to help pick out a tie to match her dress. We were there looking for THE shoes. You know, the shoes every girl knows will complete the dress just so? We found the tie in about 10 seconds, the shoes, not so easily. In fact she ended up buying a pair of boots instead ("Mom, I've been looking for these FOR-EV-ER...") and wearing a pair she already had. He made her a special dinner, complete with candlelight, sparkling cider and "romantic music" and they both laughed when "Take My Breath Away" came on as if planned. I asked them to give me a call when they were headed to the dance and meet me in one of my favorite downtown photo spots for 10 minutes. We grabbed a few frames in the pitch dark (a first for me), had a few laughs and off they went to Homecoming. Oh to be 17 again. Or 18. Or 19. Or...you get the idea!

East Wenatchee senior portraits

Seventeen and interested in attending the University of Washington. Cross-country runner, tall, good-lookin' kid, did I mention great hair? One of the things I love most about shooting senior portraits is all that exhuberance. All that possibility. That youth and unlimited future opening right there in front of them. I always leave a session happy for the prospect of our world, in the hands of these young kids with big ideas and bigger hearts. Just leaves me hopeful, and that my friends, is a great place to be. Good luck, Carl, in all that you do!

Wenatchee Valley Knights sport photography

Tough, tough match tonight. Most of the Knights are fighting big, nasty colds and Spokane is always one of our toughest competitors. We did take them in the first game, but lost the next 3, losing the match. Next home game is Wednesday, Oct. 13, against Columbia Basin. They're a lot of fun if you're looking for a something to do and it means so much to your local teams when they get community support. Only $3 to get in (kids are free) so I'll see you there!
