Hard to scare

My layout for this week's Journaling Junkie Challenge: Journal about something scary! I had to seach a bit for what to journal about, as I have done a couple pages already on my fears, bizarre as they are (the thought of aliens terrify me!). This page is about Shade and her LOVE of scary movies. I think she's seen them all.

A little birdie told me Stella at Journaling Junkie is going to be hosting some cool contests with PRIZES in the future, so there is one more reason to start stalking, I mean READING, the blog :)

I still have those promised books coming later today. Just need to finish binding one and get a few pics snapped. Back later!

For Sale: Be Mine card set - No. 2

edit: OK, these have been spoken for as well. I'll have some very cute mini envelope gift books up tomorrow.

Here is another set of 8 handmade Valentines, with envelopes. Done as tags (they don't open) but you can write on the front or back if desired. (You would need an opaque white or metallic pen for a couple of the dark ones.) Or let them speak for themselves with their little clipped "be mine" sentiment. These are looped with my favorite fat, red wool, machine stitched, inked and layered with coordinating patterened cardstock. $12 + $4.60 Priority USPS shipping = $16.60.

I have something REALLY adorable coming later today or tomorrow :)

For Sale: Be Mine card set

edit: well, that was fast! These are already spoken for so I'll get started on something else!

Don't really know if this will work (meaning if I have enough "traffic"), but I thought I would put some things for sale here as I make them. I've had several of you ask about buying things like aprons, scarves, hats, etc. I would totally like to do that but here is the rub: I love to make stuff, but I'm not so good if I HAVE to make something, know what I mean? Once it crosses the line from play to work it becomes a different thing - sometimes not as enjoyable. So I thought I would just do my thing and when I have something I think someone would like, I'll list it here. (Those of you who have made requests, I have them in mind and will get on them.)

Today I made this really cute set of 8 "Be Mine" cards/tags for the big V-day coming up. I will send 8 plain white envelopes along too, in case you want to mail them. They are 4.25" x 5.5" and are each different, but all coordinate. There is a small area on the bottom for your writing, or you can write on the whole back. They don't open like cards, but are are flat panels, quite substantial as they're backed with decorative printed cardstock as well as the cardstock and paper layering on the front. THey could also be hung like tags as each has a hanging ballchain with a metal heart charm (one is a star). They are very sweet, all handmade, with limited edition papers, vintage text book paper, grommets, charms, machine stitching, clips, and ink. And of course a cute paper heart stamped with "Be Mine" which is topped by a clear acrylic heart. I will mail them to you via USPS Priority mail. $12 + $4.60 shipping = $16.60 total. Just leave me a comment or email tonya@gauchogirl.com.

Jan. 08 wrapup

A few days ahead but that's OK. These are my favorite pages right now. I haven't been feeling much like scrapping for some time, but these wrap-up pages come together easily and I love the little reflection of the past month. Just enough space to wrapup the main points of the month. Not sure if I could do a "Year in review" page though, might be too much stuff, but all these in an album will be perfect. Can't wait till I have a few more under my belt and I can do something cool with them all together.

Cruising

I had my first follow-up this morning and the Doc says I am "cruising along", LOL. I can put my full weight on my leg, and have walked a few steps without the crutches, although don't feel super steady that way yet so its more of a party trick at this point :) 'Cuz I go to SO MANY parties, right? Is it 1985? No? OK, maybe not so many anymore. Today I watched a CSI: Miami marathon, the only downside of course being David Caruso as Horatio Cain. Sorry but is there a worse actor on the PLANET? I think not. Well, I did a commercial once and apparently "I" am the worst actor on the planet, but David C has got to be hot on my unable-to-act heels.
I have a new LO up at Journaling Junkie and I really only mention it because it shows I've done something productive with my time, besides watching CSI:Miami. However, I'm not really liking how it came out so peruse at your own risk :) Been feeling the itch for paper in these hands but have entered some sort of block as I can't seem to put two pieces together to save my life right now. And that's OK. It will come back. Confidence is never something I've lacked.

Carsey has bogarted the remote and now Hannah Montana is prancing her way across the screen. But Carsey doesn't WATCH HM, if you ask her. No way, she's almost 15....

Shade and DJ are in Seattle for volleyball this weekend. I've heard accounts throughout the weekend and I think they did pretty good. Miss the games, will be happy when I am the volleyball mom again.
Have a good week, all!
