Announcement time!
A little while ago I was thrilled to have been asked by Prima Marketing to do some scrapbook product design for them. We started working together and what is coming from this collaboration is 4 complete lines featuring luscious, ornamental, distressed, floral cardstocks and rub-ons and die-cuts and alphas and ribbons and yes, flowers. Can I use any more adjectives? Yes, I could go on and on, as if they were my children, because that is how proud I am of them. They will be available a little later this year, I'll let you know when as soon as I know. So excited to see them in use by YOU, the talent out there, so wonderous and inspiring and happy to help bring a little more beauty to the world!

I just need to say that, in regards to being female, having a period every month is the suckiest thing on the planet. Men, in contrast, get to pee standing up. How convenient, how UNFAIR.
When I was younger, in was merely an inconvenience, mostly just "gross" because, as a teen in the 80's, "gross" was the WORD. But since having Indy, 7 yrs. ago, I get the BONUS of cramps each month. Not just mild achey ones, but in-league-with-the-devil cramps. Justifiable homocide ones. It makes me whiney, uncreative, pathetic, unable to work, and honestly, even move.
Does anyone else deal with these and HOW? What do you do for relief? I take as much OTC pain relief as I can, but for about 24-36 hours I am miserable and I can be quoted as saying "just shoot me" to my husband at least a dozen times.

OK. I've been hearing some really nasty things about my beloved crocs! I have to say, Yes, I agree they're "ugly". But you know what, lots of things are ugly and we love them anyway because they fill some need so profoundly that nothing as superficial as LOOKS matters. When I wear my crocs (I have THREE pairs and have been "croc" even before "croc" was cool), I can walk comfortably ALL DAY without aches, pains, fear of slipping, stinky feet (yes, the material they are made of is actually anti-microbial, so they don't stink), and I get way more positive comments then I do negative. This pair I ordered online, received at noon on Saturday and by 12:02 I had them painted. Now they're truly me. Ugly and all :)

Here is my super stylish friend and her super adorable baby daughter. On the eve of my middle baby turning 13, I am missing being the center. Center of someone's entire world. Center of being someone's reason for being. Yes, I matter, I know I do, but right now, with Shade at 15 and Carsey now almost 13, I am more on the fringe of their lives then smack dab in the middle. Right now I am more like a key in a lock, only necessary in order to open a door to something ELSE (permission for something, ride somewhere, food or drink, shopping money.)
Have been discussing the passage of time and daughters with a newly found, like-minded friend (*wink

Where does the time go? First, has it really been almost 3 weeks since I updated this? I swear it was like yesterday. And then, this photo. Printed it as 8x10 with no plans for it, just liked it. One of the few of Indy actually holding still and NOT talking (constant talk, talk, talking she does.) It has sat, in the way, for almost 2 YEARS (not fitting in the box with my normal 4x6 sizes.) Saw the March sketch at Basic Grey and thought "I am getting this pic off my desk right NOW and give it the love it deserves." My favorite part is the title pulled from a vintage children's book page. LOVE "making something from nothing" and using all these scraps feels great!
SO my challenge to you this week is to use as much "nothing" as you can to create something beautiful. Post links in comments so we can all ooh and aah.
