East Wenatchee senior portrait: Cody

Got to meet another cool teen for senior portraits this weekend. I'd heard Cody was a bit reluctant, well, maybe uninterested is a better word, about having photos done. But from the moment he got there, he was easy-going, quite funny and I thought he looked pretty relaxed. I could tell his mom and grandma are super proud of him, and they should be -- he had a great way of making everyone laugh and feel at ease and that is such a great, and valuable personality trait. Even though he might not have been super excited to have the portraits made, I could tell he knew they were meaningful for his family and he handled all those eyes on him like a champ. Congrats, Cody, on your upcoming graduation and best of luck!

Oroville senior portrait: Breanne

Breanne! I had the best time shooting you yesterday. You are such a photogenic girl, super sweet and easy-going. Love it! Made my job easy and fun. My daughter called later to ask how it went. I told her it went great and also that "I wished we lived closer because I would totally be friends with her mom!" And, not that I'm rushing you or anything, but now I'm excited about shooting your wedding someday. It sounds like you have a bright future ahead of you and I'm honored you let me capture a little bit of this exciting time for you. Here is a sneak peek of the first few images. (By the way, we got a lot more than 10! You photograph so well!)

Peshastin: Photography

I recently got a new tattoo (post and pics of that later) that says "Il vaut mieux faire que dire," which is french and basically translates as "actions speak louder than words," (literally it's better to do than to say.) I got it to remind myself to stop SAYING and start DOING. So this past weekend after a drive to Easton, I saw a place I've always wanted to visit and, seeing those words on my wrist, decided today was as good a day as any. Get OUTSIDE, tonya, (and family!) and DO SOMETHING.

I've lived in Wenatchee 12 years and have driven by these amazing rock formations many, many times. Known as the Peshastin Pinnacles, they are accesible to anyone at Peshastin Pinnacles State Park. There are walking trails around the park for the non-rock-climber and they all sort of circle the rocks and the gorgeous orchards that border them. There was always something neat to see, be it some intrepid soul scaling a rock face or just a jaw-dropping view of the upper Wenatchee valley. Reminds me that I was 100% right in my spur-of-the-moment decision 12 years ago to up-and-quit my job in Seattle and move here with my 2 young daughters, despite the fact I had no employment lined up and only knew 1 person in the whole town. I loved this area the first time I saw it and knew it was the place for me to be.

Are you expecting now or plan to be new parents in the coming year? Now is the time to reserve one of my limited "Watch me grow: Baby's first year" packages! All "Watch me grow" packages will receive this $1750 value for $1350 - thats $400 off! And I've lowered my normal 50% deposit amount to $400, with the remaining fee to be divided into equal payments with the sessions.

"Watch me grow: Baby's first year" includes:
1 maternity session + 7 mini sessions, (newborn and at 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 months,) to document a magical, momentous year. Every other month you'll receive that session's artfully edited photos on CD documenting this amazing, quickly-changing time of life. Then, at the end of the year, I will custom design a hardback album featuring the entire year of photos, (with space for writing if you desire), for you to keep as a truly unique, one-of-a-kind momento of this time in your family's life. Additional copies of the hardbound album will also be available at reduced cost. (You'll want to keep and treasure yours, but what about one to give your child as a gift later in life, perhaps at 18 or upon his/her marriage. Grandparents also love these!)
