Around here, free day = free stuff

So, I thought it was cool that we were given a "free day" today. A whole 24 hours that only happens once every 4 years. That seems like something to celebrate. So I spent some of that "free" time and made a little present to myself. And then I thought "tonya, you need to share the goodness that the free day has brought you, because without the free day, you would not have created such goodness" (or something much less biblical sounding.) This is a set of 7 Photoshop brushes I'm calling "Botanicals" and if you email me, I will send you the set for FREE in honor of the FREE day. I made these in PS CS3 so no guarantees (or hate mail please) if they don't work with what you have. The cool thing about free days is stress is NOT ALLOWED. Oh, and I will be out of town Saturday am to Sunday pm so if you don't hear from me, don't panic - I WILL get the brushes to you if you want 'em.

SALE: Turquoise and Brown Purse

Made another last night. Crazy log cabin designs that came out so cute! Entirely quilted and all cotton, like your favorite quilt. Has the main inner compartment and then 2 small pockets inside to help organize cells and sunglasses and such. Has a zipper close in the center which still allows taller items, like a water bottle, to stick out the top. Size is about 14x7x4 and it has longer handles so it fits comfortably.

Price: $45+ shipping SOLD

Collage

You can see this whole collage here. Love taking bits and pieces and putting them together where the whole is greater than the sum of parts. A lot like life, collage.

And a big thank you to my friend Suzanne (she lives just 2 doors down) who sent me two HUGE containers of scrap fabric, zippers, trim and even some yarn. Going to be using a lot of this in the future!

I Spy

Found a fun new site called I Spy. They issue weekly challenges to photographically capture a word. First week was "Beautiful" and this week is "Cold". Fun stuff, sort of a picture scavenger hunt. (If you're looking for a bigger hunt, check out the Monthly Scavenger Hunt at Flickr. This month's included tough words such as Xenophobe, Tryst, Emoticon, Yoke and more (one for each day with the whole month to capture them. All great exercises to expand your photographic vision, and thus, your skills.
