Sin City, redux

Back again from Sin City. LOL, I just love to call it that. Haven't had much chance to go through my photos yet. Needed to play catch-up all day with laundry, kitchen, unpacking, etc, you know the drill. This is the first and only pic I've gotten my hands on and thought I'd share as I loved how it came out. The NAPP Photoshop World conference was as awesome and inspiring as I had hoped. If you ever get a chance to attend this (and, of course, you're into PS and photography) then by any means do so. My favorites are Joe McNally and Jay Maisel - two of the world's top photographers with portfolios that were so incredible they brought me to tears. Check them out.

3 more for the count: 6 down, 14 to go

The purse I made for Stephanie needed a little something, some color, so I made these little appliques to add on. Now she seems "done." I'm counting them as 1 of my projects, as I have never made an applique before and it was a learning experience. And they did use a small part of my stash!
The yellow and black purse I made last night for myself. I love the contrast of the vintage flour-sack fabric with the graphic and whimsical polka dots! Made a wider strap for comfort and 4 extra pockets to keep me organized.

I found this old pic of Indy on her very first birthday! This was way back when before I scrapbooked, so I was thrilled to find this little morsel 'o' goodness! The layout is called "Eat cake" (wait all year, after 365 days eat cake!)

OK, I already forgot I was on a "no buy" spell until I've completed 10 projects. I didn't violate on purpose, I forgot! SO as penance, I've upped my project list to TWENTY. I have to complete 20 projects using existing supplies before I can buy anything (other than adhesive) again. The purse below counts as 1 and these 2 layouts make 2 and 3. I made the previews here small though because if you want to see more you'll have to visit their other homes, my Prima Gallery and the brand spankin' new Prima blog where they will be making their debuts later this week.

On another note, I'm sad to say I had to turn on comment moderation as I was starting to get spam comments. DO spammers seriously think anyone in their right mind is going to think "hmmm, I feel like gambling and/or ordering viagra right this minute and this potentially dangerous link is exactly the one I should recklessly click on to do so...". fidiots!

On the remodeling home front, we have been "taped" and "darby-ed"! Our wall guy (ie: my super father-in-law) has to leave for a week tomorrow, thus quashing my hopes of being done this weekend. Ah well, what's one more week, right?

Happy 1/2 hour from officially being Thursday!

1 down, 9 to go

My friend Lain publicly admitted to her stash (and her husband's lack of knowledge of the true extent of it) and made a promise to BUY NO MORE until she has completed 10 projects. Being that I have the same problem, I agreed to join her. NO MORE SUPPLIES, not scrapbook, nor quilting, nor yarn, until I complete TEN projects using product I already had. So, this afternoon I crossed the first of the ten projects off the list: this purse made from old cargo pants (although originally these were bought new, on clearance, for this project.) For my friend Steph. Posted by Picasa

It's all just smoke and mirrors

The upside of this remodel is I have a room with solid white walls and a huge window to do impromptu mini photo-sessions in. What you DON'T see in this picture is Indy is leaning on a scrap of sheet rock and sitting on a very dusty ledge. (And I photoshopped out the BBQ sauce from her chin and the sheetrock dust from her hands.) Posted by Picasa
