I have always had some unexplained fascination with the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration celebrated in Hispanic culture. Don't know why, my guess is that from a purely graphic standpoint the dioramas, alters, figurines and sugar skulls are so irreverently appealing - macabre and downright funny. I love the black, white and red colors and the twisted-ness of them. You can read more about Dia de los Muertos here. (I even have this switchplate in my bedroom, which I bought at The Mexican Museum in San Francisco.)
