Coming home

Just a little LO of Indy on her daily walk from the schoolyard to my car. I always like to watch her interacting with friends and teachers and crossing-guards. Sometimes its an eye-opener to see your kids in an element outside of the normal.
In volleyball news, today was tryout day, again, for Club Volleyball. Carsey decided not to play this year, but Shade went for it. She made the team she was trying for, the U17 Gold team, so it will be another exciting year for us with lots of traveling. Most of the girls who made the team were also on her team last year, so it will be great spending more time with such a GREAT group of motivated young women and parents and getting to know the new ones too. And lots more volleyball photos for me.
A few other projects:

Being a mom in 2:55

I saw this on Lee's site and had to pass it on. I have said every single one of these statements. Including the "you're grounded till you're 36" one. Love it. I think to save time I should make this my kids' alarm clock sound in the morning, LOL.

Art and backs and thanksgivings

I am officially declaring my love for the art of Rodney White. I just found his work via a calendar of all things, at my LCS. Love it. Love him. Rustic and inspirational and vibrant and joyous and spot-on with my life philosopy. Check him out!

SO, what is happening with me? Well, long story short, after an MRI, I have found out my "bad back" is from a hugely herniated disk between L4 and L5 in my lower back. I am scheduled for surgery to fix it on the 28th of this month. Six weeks after that, I am scheduled to have my hip replacement! Wahooo, bet you want to be me, huh? I was managing the pain from my back (which is really pain all the way from my back down to my right foot) via acupuncture. Sadly this weekend it took a turn for the worse, for lack of better, or more technical terms, and now nothing is helping. I ended up in the emergency room Sunday afternoon to get a big ole' shot for pain in the butt (or "buttchucks" as Indy calls them). Which helped tremendously. For about 6 hours. Now I am taking as much vicodin as is safely allowed (believe me, it is not enough) and waiting out the next 2 weeks till my surgery. This time around though, I can't really sit or stand or lay down for long, so haven't been getting anything done. I have seen 2,756 episodes of Josh & Drake though (oh joy), as well as more SpongeBob SquarePants then is humanly possible. So if you don't hear from me, that's why. I'll be around, even if I don't answer right away. I hope everyone haves a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving! We all have SO MUCH to be thankful for, right? RIGHT! Go November!
