Scrappy tote

And by "scrappy" I actually don't mean anything to do with scrapbooking this time! I always save all my little fabric scraps and sew them into crazy little blocks. Always with the good intention of making them into quilts...someday. Someday rarely comes, so I turned eight of them into this cute totebag today. She'll be just right for magazines and books on car trips!
I have this beautiful book, and must recommend it if you love quilting at all. Denyse Schmidt has gorgeous, contemporary flair with this old-time craft. Might use some of my other blocks on the projects in this book. She makes it so enjoyable and EASY. Everyone who likes piecing papers together should enjoy giving this a try too. Posted by Picasa

to contact me

Well, it appears my server (not my computer, but the server that gives me email and internet) has died the big death. If you need to email me, it will probably be easiest to post here, which I will check, and I'll email YOU from work (shhh!).
Sorry about the hassle, but hey, this way DJ has something to fix while I'm scrapping to pass the time (or sewing! Look at the totally cute "welcome to Fall" bag I made last night. She's convertible from across-the-bod to shoulder to backpack. Love her!)
Anyway, hopefully it won't be long!

A few more

Have to say I've really enjoyed taking "me time" this weekend and just creating a lot of pages. I keep pulling out a few photos, thinking "I'll just scrap this real quick to get it off my desk..." but the pile keeps growing. I think I'm a pretty quick scrapper, but, I can't seem to "let go" of a page very well, so the process seems to take longer than it should. It needs to sit on my desk for a good couple days before I can declare "it's done." Sometimes I continue to add little bits here and there, but often nothing changes in those few days. It takes some undefinable "click" in my mind when I think "oh, now it's done", lol, as if it were cooking and needed just a little longer. Anyway, feels good to kick out a few pages and shrink that pile 'o pics! Happy Sunday! t

3 for Saturday

Been lovin' the August Jenni Bowlin kit that came in the mail yesterday! Jenni always does such a great job reading my mind, apparently, because each month just the right combination of goodies arrives on my doorstep to let me creatively and quickly put together really special pages. She always shows you her own great inspirational pages, several "kick-starts" and a super talented guest designer to spur your mind. I don't even get paid to say this, lol, but check her out if you don't already!
